Do you have deep experience with semiconductor and MEMS processes — and want to industrialize the technology that defines the future of sound capture? We're looking for a Senior Engineer to drive the development and industrialization of sensiBel's optronic and MEMS sub-systems. This is a key position at sensiBel, instrumental in scaling our core technology and bringing studio-quality microphone performance to mass markets in the consumer electronics industry. You'll interface with key suppliers to take our optronics and MEMS sub-systems into very high-volume production, working on both process and device design as well as supply chain management. The position is full-time and permanent, reporting to the Team Lead for MEMS and Optronics in our Engineering department in Oslo.

Who are we looking for?
You have a deep understanding of semiconductor processes combined with a sincere interest in the technology that is the foundation of sensiBel's products — and you know how to optimise a design for performance, manufacturability, reliability and cost, all at once. You're comfortable operating in a fab-less context, where progress depends on building strong technical relationships with world-leading teams and suppliers in the semiconductor industry.
You take ownership of your sub-systems end to end: from process development and specifications through test plans, validation and root-cause analysis. And you thrive in a start-up environment, ready to scale one of the most exciting technologies in the audio industry.
Relevant skills and experience
5+ years of experience from the MEMS, microtechnology or semiconductor industry, including knowledge of photolithography, etching and deposition processes used in advanced microtechnology components
Knowledge and experience with processing, inspection and characterisation of wafers for MEMS, microtechnology and semiconductor devices
MSc or PhD, preferably related to semiconductors, MEMS, photonics and/or electronics
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
What you get
Influence and responsibility
Work closely with the MEMS and Optronics team lead and drive the sub-systems that are central to sensiBel's success and build sought-after expertise along the way.

We're based in modern offices in Forskningsparken in Oslo, alongside some of Norway's most innovative companies.
International environment
We work in an international environment, primarily with large international companies and investors.
Social happenings
Strategy gatherings, summer parties, Christmas parties and conferences - there are plenty of social events to look forward to!
Your day at sensiBel
As Senior Engineer in our MEMS and Optronics group, you work on sensiBel's core sub-system designs and the process development behind them — advanced optronics and MEMS microtechnology, with a focus on wafer-level packaging and micro-optic devices. We use both industry-standard MEMS and semiconductor wafer processes and novel wafer-level assembly techniques to integrate silicon, glass and III-V chips and wafers, and you'll be at the center of making those processes production-ready.
A typical week might include leading technical discussions with suppliers on progress, test plans and validation of produced material; refining a sub-component specification; organising characterisation runs and analysing the resulting test data to optimise yield and quality; connecting component-level results to product performance; and facilitating a root-cause analysis with our operations department to land corrective actions.
Key responsibilities
Process and component development: Drive development projects for core subsystems of the optical MEMS microphone fabrication, with strong focus on wafer-level assembly processes
Supplier management: Develop and maintain key supplier relations, sub-system specifications and test plans
Work packages: Drive work packages related to core sub-systems development
Characterisation and validation: Organise and carry out sub-system characterisation and validation
Test data and yield: Organise and analyse test data to optimise yield and quality, and connect component-level test data to product performance
Root-cause analysis: Lead and facilitate root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions together with our operations department
